About Our Foundation

Empowering children and youth through comprehensive educational support.

The Social Problem

The Preston and Wilma Williams Foundation for Social Change Inc. addresses the critical gap in educational equity and resource accessibility for children in underserved communities. Data consistently shows that children from low-income neighborhoods face significant barriers to quality education, including lack of school supplies, inadequate after-school support, and limited access to mentorship.

According to recent educational equity reports, students without access to supplemental educational resources are disproportionately more likely to fall behind academically. Our foundation exists to bridge this gap, ensuring that every child, regardless of their socioeconomic background, has the tools and support necessary to thrive academically and personally.

Community Meeting

Our Long-term Vision

Over the next five to ten years, we envision a community where educational disparity is eradicated. We aim to build a robust network of educational support centers and scholarship programs that not only improve graduation rates but also cultivate a generation of educated, confident, and socially responsible leaders.

By investing in children today, we are actively dismantling cycles of poverty and building a more equitable, prosperous society for tomorrow.

Theory of Change

Our Theory of Change is structured to ensure that every input leads to a meaningful, long-term impact:

  • Inputs: Funding, dedicated volunteers, educational materials, and community partnerships.
  • Activities: Distributing supplies, providing scholarships, hosting tutoring sessions, and organizing community workshops.
  • Short-term Outcomes: Improved student attendance, higher engagement in learning, and reduced financial stress on families.
  • Long-term Impact: Increased graduation rates, higher pursuit of post-secondary education, and the development of empowered community leaders who drive systemic social change.

Stories from our Principal

"For over two decades, I have walked the streets of our communities, witnessing firsthand the brilliant potential locked away behind the barriers of inequity. I remember a young boy named Marcus, who had the mind of an engineer but lacked even a basic notebook. When we provided him with a simple backpack of supplies and a mentor who believed in him, his entire trajectory changed. Today, he is a college graduate. The Preston and Wilma Williams Foundation was born from these moments—the profound realization that a small intervention can alter the course of a life. My life's work is not just about charity; it is about justice, opportunity, and the unwavering belief in the power of our children."
